KAMLOOPS — Post-Secondary students who are enrolled in early childhood education (ECE) programs at institutions in BC can now apply for bursaries to help with financial costs.
In a news release, the Ministry of Education and Child Care says students can apply for bursaries from March 20 to April 3 for the winter semester using a new online portal that is managed by the Early Childhood Educators of BC.
The bursary amount varies based on the cost of a student’s education. ECE students can potentially be eligible for as much as $5,000 per semester. In addition, bursaries are available to new and returning students, with priority going to students who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit).
The remaining applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with funding distributed upon proof of course completion at the end of the term.
