Full-day kindergarten planned for Nunavut following a pilot project at five schools

Full-day kindergarten could soon be offered at schools across Nunavut. This fall, the Department of Education will begin testing an all-day kindergarten program in five schools in the territory. Omemee school to expand with new kindergarten and childcare spaces: MPP – Peterborough

The province of Ontario has approved expansion for a kindergarten addition and a child care center at Scott Young Public School in the village of Omemee, the area’s MPP announced Friday. Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP Laurie Scott said the province has given the Trillium Lakelands District School Board approval to proceed to tender for a two-room kindergarten addition and a child-care center for the school on Walnut Street in the village.
